IS FIBER GOOD FOR YOUR THYROID?
Is Fiber Good. Nowadays, is very common to have some sort of thyroid condition, a diet that’s high in fiber can be particularly beneficial to you by helping with weight loss and chronic constipation, a common effect of hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid), or diarrhea, a common outcome of hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid).
Studies show that when you eat a high-fiber diet, you lower your risk of coronary artery disease and heart attack by as much as 40 percent to 50 percent. Research has also found that your risk of heart disease may be decreased by 9 percent for every 7 grams you increase your daily fiber intake.
This is why I love to include superfoods that will support my thyroid and my overall health. One of my favorite superfoods is Peruvian Lucuma as it is a great source of fiber and an amazing natural sweetener. My family loves it in smoothies, desserts, coffee, and of course our famous “Lucuma cookies”
